Stara szkoła

The name of the “Stara Szkoła” brewery did not come out of nothing. This brewery was founded several years ago, in the building of an old school, where students have not been seen for a decade. Until the moment when brewers appeared there, who perfected their craft within its walls.

A wooden, old building where beer is brewed is located in the heart of one of the beautiful Podlasie forests. The beer is made using only traditional methods and according to old recipes. The founders of the brewery constructed devices with their own hands, thanks to which they can cultivate tradition. The brewing kettle is heated by live fire, and the crackle of burning wood creates an accompaniment to the manual work of brewers.

The herbs and grains needed for the production of beer are supplied to us by local farmers, pickers, and we also grow them ourselves, behind the fence of our brewery. Then, the breeders collect from us the spent grain produced during production, which is an excellent addition to animal feed. We live in symbiosis, taking care of nature, because it is thanks to it that we can create our drinks.

Our team consists of enthusiasts of beer and herbs. The combination of knowledge and enthusiasm for hard work resulted in the creation of a series of beers. It is our tribute to the tradition and taste that accompanied our ancestors several hundred years ago. We appreciate their resourcefulness, because in times when barley or wheat malt was extremely hard to come by, they brewed excellent beer based on what is available. An old school.
