Amber Golden Lions

We brew the Golden Lions using the traditional method using barley malt, water from our own deep water intakes and selected hops (including IUNGA). Beer with a light amber color and a rich bouquet of aromas. In taste, bitter and malty notes come to the fore. This classic style has enjoyed unchanging popularity for years. Our goal was to create a perfect Gdańsk lager.

The most popular type of bottom-fermented beer in the world in a traditional Gdańsk version. The history of lager dates back to the Middle Ages. It is a bottom-fermented beer aged at low temperatures. In German, the word “Lagerung” means aging. In the Middle Ages, beer was “lagered” in cool places, e.g. in caves. In the nineteenth century, that is, before the appearance of suitable refrigerators, German brewers dug cellars specifically for aging beer. They filled them with ice from nearby lakes and rivers, which allowed the beer to be cooled in the summer (also because for a long time brewing beer in summer was forbidden in most of the country). The prevalence of lager is strongly linked to the development of refrigeration. Thanks to this, it was possible to brew it throughout the year in more places.

We have been brewing the Golden Lions since 2007. Beer is made using the traditional brewing method. In the brewing process we use only the highest quality barley malt, selected hops (including IUNGA) and water from our own deep water intakes.

Perfect as an addition to fried meat and cheese. Goes well with nuts and dried fruits.
