It is a bottom-fermented beer, fermenting at low temperatures in traditional open vats. As with many dark beers, it ages for a long time. The recipe includes roasted caramel malt and kola tree nut extract.

The unusual taste of this beer is a combination of gently bitter, roasted malt balanced with a dose of surprising sweetness. Alcohol is practically not felt on the palate. Fortuna Czarne has refreshing properties, and at the same time it can be drunk as a dessert beer.

The product has been awarded many times, including the “Good because Polish” mark, the Audience Award at the Poznań Fair Polagra-Farm in Poznań and a medal in the Beer Competition in Szczyrk.

Fortuna CZARNE has been entered on the List of Traditional Products kept by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The List includes a product whose quality or unique features and properties result from the use of traditional production methods. Methods used for at least 25 years are considered traditional. The product applying for such an entry should also be part of the identity of the local community and be part of the cultural heritage of the region in which it originates.

Fortuna Brewery received the title of Polish Food Producer 2006 for Czarne beer.

PRODUCENT -  Fortuna

Our philosophy is based on the use of natural raw materials of the highest quality, the use of artisanal production methods such as traditional, unhurried open fermentation. Creating a unique beer requires not only the highest quality ingredients, but above all the craftsmanship and commitment of our brewers as well as precious time. Our beer is still made in a very similar way to how it was brewed back in the 19th century. Browar Fortuna is one of only a dozen or so breweries in Europe that use traditional open fermentation vats. Beer, after adding yeast, ferments in them as nature intended: without artificial acceleration, without being subjected to pressure or temperature. Thanks to this, the yeast is happier with us, they are not stressed, they have ideal conditions for development and, as a result, they give a unique, fresh taste and rich aroma. Fortuna Brewery beers are very popular among people looking for non-mass products, brewed using traditional methods and offering a much wider range of flavors than the popularly produced "light full".
