PRODUCENT -  Miłosław

The first written mention of Miłosław dates back to 1314, when the town was owned by the Miłosławski family of the Doliwa coat of arms, while Miłosław received city rights before 1397. The historically documented origins of Miłosław beer date back to 1626, when an official entry was made about the first portions of beer being cooked. Miłosław turned out to be a thriving brewing center, which is best evidenced by chopowe, the equivalent of the modern excise tax. They were paid by as many as 36 millers (as brewers were then called). In 1794, the well-deservedly famous Miłosław beer was sent to Gdańsk, from where it set off on ships to the wide world... However, the star of Miłosław shone brightest during the European Spring of Nations: on April 30, 1848, the greatest battle of the Greater Poland Uprising, also known as the Poznań Uprising, was fought near Miłosław. In this victorious and heroic fight, the Polish forces, being in the minority, defeated the well-trained Prussian army. This event was immortalized by Juliusz Kossak - a reproduction of "The Battle of Miłosław" adorns the back label of our beer "Miłosław Pilzner", inspired by the history and heritage of our hometown.
