Flanders is a sour, reddish beer originating from Flanders – the north-western region of Belgium. It is characterized by pronounced acidity, subtle earthiness and fruity, slightly wine character. Beer owes such an interesting profile to wild yeast strains and bacteria. Flanders Red Ale matured for 14 months in the company of yeast and bacteria Wyland 3763 Roeselare Belgian Sour Blend in a real oak foeder in which red wine was macerated year after year in the Moravian vineyard Vinařství U Kapličky, which accelerated oxidation, gave delicate acetic and subtle tannins.
