Albrecht Václav Eusebius of Wallenstein came from a poor line of the Wallenstein family. During the Czech uprising, he entered the service of the Habsburgs in controversial circumstances and as a result earned claims to the highest prizes. The emperor granted him the title of Duke of Frýdlant and entrusted him with the command of his armed forces. Albrecht of Wallenstein played a key role in the development of the East Bohemian region.
