Chimay Gold is a light, slightly amber beer that is brewed by Trappists in the Chimay monastery in Belgium. It is delicately sweet, has a light coriander flavor and is mildly seasoned. Chimay Gold was initially intended only for consumption by the monks of the Trappist Order or in the nearby Auberge de Poteaupre, which is associated with the monastery. Currently, Doree (Gold) Chimay is widely available to consumers.
