The origins of the Johnnie Walker brand date back to 1819. It was then that only fourteen-year-old John Walker sold his parents’ farm to open a store. He sold alcohols there, including those produced by himself. In 1867, John’s son, who had taken over the business after his father’s death, released Walker’s Old Highlands blend. This blend was the precursor of very popular versions of Black Label or Red Label. In the fifties, the brand achieved great success: Johnnie Walker whisky became the best-selling whisky in the world. Marketing at a very high level certainly contributed to this. Such a well-known image of the “walking man”, which is the symbol of the brand, was designed by a cartoonist named Tom Browne in 1908. Currently, Johnnie Walker is owned by alcohol giant DIAGEO.

Johhnie Walker Song of Ice fits in a bottle with a classic form for the brand – it is slightly angular and has a medium-length neck. This unique edition was decorated with graphics depicting a white wolf, called a direwolf in the novel. In the world of “Game of Thrones”, this animal is considered a more intelligent variety of wolf. At the very beginning of the story, the Stark children take in six abandoned direwolves and give them names: Lady, Nymeria, Summer, Shaggy, Ghost and Grey Wind. The white animal becomes a symbol of the Winterfell family. On the white and blue label he looks quite threatening, sticks out his fangs and prepares to attack. Below the bottle we will see the brand’s characteristic emblem – a man in a hat walking with a cane in his hand.
