After many competition successes of Master Porter on the international arena, we decided to raise it to an even higher level of sensory perfection, enriching it with equally noble notes of the drink, which is Sherry Oloroso wine – says Paweł Zych, brewer from the Okocim Brewery.
Brewed in 2017, after a long process of classic aging, porter was enclosed in oak barrels of Spanish wine for 17 months. The beer has been enriched with the best qualities of Oloroso wine and oak aroma. There are notes of walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds, as well as the taste of caramel with a slightly noticeable chocolate aftertaste. The bitterness of the beer became more pronounced, without suppressing the sweetness.
The inspiration for the Okocim brewers was the tradition, experience and craftsmanship of their predecessors. Choosing the right barrel for the Okocim porter required a long search. Brewers experimented with whiskey, rum and brandy tops. The beers aged in them were evaluated by the Okocim panel of tasters. In the end, a barrel of Sherry Oloroso, a Spanish wine from the region of Andalusia, which is characterized by aromatic, deep, round notes of dried fruits and dried fruits, was chosen.
We chose the type of barrel that best harmonized with the profile of the Master Porter, but without dominating it – explains Paweł Zych.
As a result, a unique beer was created, which is an extraordinary proposition for connoisseurs of porters. Master Porter Sherry Oloroso Barrel Aged tastes best served in pokal at 12 degrees Celsius. It goes perfectly with smoked cheeses, pear and chocolate.
The limited edition of Sherry Oloroso Barrel Aged Master Porter from Okocim has only 15 thousand. Bottles. Currently, it is introduced for sale in selected stores and retail chains. The beer contains 9.6% alcohol, it is available in elegant dark brown glass bottles, the so-called. Stalls with bail with ceramic cork. The bottles have a capacity of 330 ml, they are packed in cardboard boxes.

The Plant Brewery is located in Poniatowa (approx. 40 km from Lublin). It was built in a building that previously belonged to the Predom – EDA plant complex, producing, among others, household appliances. The plants operated from 1937 to 1998. For the last few years, there was a printing house inside. Then the building was empty. Time has left its mark on him. The brewery creates new wave beers, also referred to as craft or craft beers. In many cases, these are liquors with the use of American hops, which give a characteristic aroma and taste.
