Several types of beer, including lambic, pils and white beer, contain added fruit juices or syrup for the production of fruit beers. Rodenbach Alexander, a blended beer, belongs to a completely different category, because it is based on the Rodenbach Grand Cru.

This tasting beer contains 1/3 part of young beer and 2/3 part of beer that has matured in an oak feeder for two years, soaked in natural cherry juice “noorderkrieken”.

Without a doubt, thanks to its exceptionally balanced palate, fruity accents and complex finishes, it is one of the best sour ale of this Roeselare brewery, which specializes in this traditional type of beer.

Rodenbach Alexander was founded in 1986 on the occasion of the 200. anniversary of the birth of Alexander Rodenbach, co-founder of the brewery and “spiritual father” of Rodenbach’s sour feed beers.

Rodenbach Alexander is a member of the extended Rodenbach “sour ales” family, which also includes the available, lightweight Rodenbach Fruitage, the refreshingly tart Rodenbach Classic drink and three tasting beers: Rodenbach Grand Cru, Caractère Rouge and Vintage.

PRODUCENT -  Rodenbach

Rodenbach is a type of brewery that leaves a lasting impression. Here, beer enthusiasts take care of the excellent taste of the famous Flemish red-brown ale. Using their own unique recipes, they brew exceptional mixed fermentation beer in 294 oak barrels. The result is beers that are a bit different than you expected. Refreshing and intense. Greetings to the unexpected! The Rodenbach family is not your average family. The ancestors of the current family took part in the Napoleonic campaign in Russia, wrote the Belgian national anthem and founded the Rodenbach Brewery in 1821. Entrepreneurial, with a unique vision of beer quality and character. The family designed a complete aging process for Rodenbach that includes 294 huge oak barrels that still grace the maturing hall and are now part of our industrial heritage.
