Johannes is a bright lager with a full, essential taste, which is due to its long aging and high level of extract.
The creation of the Johannes brand was a joint initiative of the Amber Brewery and the Gdańsk Museum. Part of the income from the sale of beer is allocated to the purchase of exhibits for the museum. Thus, each of the consumers becomes a co-founder of the purchased exhibits.
The beer is characterized by clarity and a beautiful, amber color. It is balanced and its taste and aroma are very characteristic. The aroma is noticeable solid malt base and classic Polish hops.
Lager is a style known since the Middle Ages. It is a bottom-fermented beer aged at low temperatures. The name of our lager is a tribute to the outstanding Gdańsk astronomer and brewer Johannes Hevelius.
In respect for his contribution to Gdańsk brewing, in 2011, which was declared the year of Heweliusz, we brewed a beer dedicated to him.
