During the long, dark nights of the Baltic winter, brewers gather to honor their favorite style of beer on the occasion of Baltic Porter Day. Traditional Estonian flavors of rye and black bread combined with strong dark chocolate and dried fruit in poor black beer. In this year’s edition, Sigur coffee (chicory root) was added to create a hint of earthiness and bitter roasting, with hints of caramel, dried herbs and fodder mushrooms.
