ROKU GIN The Japanese Craft Gin 43% 0.7L – Japan

Gin is a unique alcohol, the taste of which is usually associated with juniper. Also from this plant derives the name of the drink, which in Old Dutch sounds genever, in French geniever, or Italian ginepro – that is, juniper. The history of gin dates back to the far Middle Ages, and its invention is attributed to the physician Francisco Sylvius – then the liquor was considered a herbal remedy. There are several ways of producing this characteristic alcohol and it is these methods that classify gin into: London Dry Gin, Distilled Gin and Gin – where the first two are clearly of higher quality than the third. In addition to clearly juniper gins, we can meet very citrus and noble versions that will appeal to many gourmets.

Roku Gin is distilled and bottled in Japan. The following ingredients are used to create it: yuzu shell, sakura flower, sakura leaves, sencha tea, gyokuro tea and sansho pepper. Additionally, juniper berries, cinnamon, angelica, coriander and bitter orange are also added at the distillation stage to obtain an authentic characteristic taste.

The hexagonal-shaped bottle resembles 6 special plants. The drawings on the glass refer to Japanese painting.

Odour: Floral and sweet notes, cherry blossoms, green tea.
Taste: Complex, soft, classic and velvety.
Finish: A long-lasting note of sansho pepper provides a delicate sharpness.
