It’s no secret that we’re in love with our hops at Amager Bryghus. And we use a hell of a lot of them. Our head brewer, Jacob, thoroughly scrutinizes every email he receives from our hop suppliers. And news about new hop varieties or experimental hop releases put him in a state of mind like zen, or one might even say, bordering on excitement. Over the years, Jacob has tried hundreds of hop combinations, but creating new ones never seems to tire him. On the contrary. Heavenly Hops is a series of new beers containing hops or hop combinations that we have rarely or never used before, or experimental hop varieties that don’t even have a proper name yet. And no, we’re not going to use the same basic beer for all of them, creating a tedious Pale Ale line or whatever. The beers will naturally fall within the spectrum of hop beer styles, but different styles and strengths, that’s for sure. For us, hops are almost divine. We hope you enjoy this series of beers, Jacob’s tribute to heavenly hops.

PRODUCENT -  Amager

Amager Bryghus is a Danish microbrewery located on the island of Amager. It was founded in 2007 by Morten Valentin Lundsbak and Jacob Storm in an old warehouse formerly owned by the Church of Scientology. His first beer to make the Ratebeer Top 50 list was an Imperial Stout called Hr. Frederiksen. This particular beer was created to celebrate a friend of the owners, Peter Frederiksen, who helped them set up the brewery throughout the year. Thanks to the success of Mr. Frederiksen, they established cooperation with Shelton Brothers and began exporting to the United States. Since 2009, they have been on the list of the 100 best Ratebeer breweries.
