Here he is – the new Lord Potion, who does not intend to take prisoners!
The theme of this installment is smoked meat, after all, we have been specializing in it not since yesterday, but we have not yet explored it in the Potion series. It is high time to make up for this oversight.
We started with the base, i.e. a strong Scottish Wee Heavy style, treated by us in a new wave way, i.e. with the addition of malt smoked with peat. We decided to pour them into barrels of Bunnahabhain peat whisky, which is famous for its good balance and treats smoked meat as one component, not a dominant.
After many months of aging, looking for the perfect addition, we aimed at Lapsang smoked tea. Its leaves are dried with smoke from cedar and pine wood, which brings a wonderful aroma of Christmas Eve dried fruit.
All these components resulted in a powerful dose of fruit (dates, figs, plums), balanced smoked meat and deceptive sweetness in the spirit of toffee.
We are convinced that beer will taste not only peated-heads.
