O’Hara’s flagship product, this unique Irish stout, is a reminder of how Irish stouts once tasted. First brewed in 1999, it has since been awarded prestigious awards for quality and authenticity.
O’Hara’s Irish Stout has a strong roast flavor, complemented by a full and smooth mouthfeel. The hearty addition of Fuggle hops gives a tart bitterness to the dry finish reminiscent of espresso. This session stout beer is filled with rich, complex coffee aromas mixed with light notes of licorice. The combination of traditional stout hops with an extra pinch of roasted barley allows us to remain faithful to the Irish tradition, recreating the taste so often awaited by stout drinkers.
We wanted to give our stout a real and truly Irish flavor, which can only be created by artisanal brewing using local Irish malts. For the production of our traditional dry Irish stout we use no less than 5 varieties of malt and wheat. This diverse combination of malt comes to life thanks to our carefully developed mashing and cooking process. The wonderful flavours and aromas that are created are balanced by a selection of additions of old-style hop varieties to create this truly complete Irish Stout. Whether you choose our nitrided stout for your drink, watching the mesmerizing sight as the glass slowly cascades into the creamy head, or try our fizzy stout in a bottle, we hope you appreciate its flavors.

PRODUCENT - O'Hara
Here at Carlow Brewing Company, also known as O'Hara's Brewery, we brew traditional Irish beers and our own interpretation of international beer styles, including our stouts and ales, wheat beers and lagers, all bearing the name of the brewery's founding family, O'Hara . Each beer is made using classic brewing methods to create traditional Irish styles of beers long since forgotten by many of the larger breweries. We only use four main ingredients; water, malts, hops and yeast to produce the highest quality range of craft beers. We hope you will share our passion, taste our beers and enjoy the experience.
