Lindemans Gueuze Lambic Beer – Belgia

Filtered before bottling, this is a sweet variety of old gueuze.

There are several stories explaining the origin of the term “gueuze”. This name derives from the Rue de Gueuze in Brussels, where for the first time the manufacturer offered his delicious lambic in bottles of champagne. Word quickly spread about the “lambicku on Rue de Gueuze”. According to other sources, gueuze has its roots in “gazeux” – the French word for carbonated – because traditional gueuze is a carbonated mixture of different lambics.

After World War II, some lambic brewers developed a new production method. They filtered the beer, added sugar, saturated (carbon dioxide) and pasteurized. This new gueuze, closed with a cap and available in 25 cl bottles, was called capped gueuze.

Developed according to this production method, Gueuze Lindemans is a slightly sweeter version of Old Gueuze Cuvée René.

TASTE: Gueuze, which is sweet and dry at the same time with a pleasantly sweet attack and a fresh, slightly sour finish reminiscent of sherry with notes of champagne and rhubarb.

– Chicken, turkey (preferably with sauce based on Gueuze Lindemans)
