Lindemans Kriek Cuvee Rene Grand Cru 2022 0.75L – Belgium

Traditional kriek in all its glory! Probably our most complex product.

It’s the masterpiece I’m most proud of, as is one of my sons, from whom it is named.

What makes this traditional kriek unique is that it is brewed from whole cherries. Since real Schaerbeek cherries are rare, the Lindemans brewery has found its ideal counterparts in other parts of Europe.

It is a deep red color and its foam is slightly pink. A very refreshing drink perfectly quenches thirst, which thanks to its sparkling and spicy taste is ideal as an aperitif.

To produce Oude Kriek Cuvée René, cherries ferment in lambic, which is at least six months old in huge oak barrels with a capacity of 2640 gallons called foudres. After six months, this traditional kriek is bottled in corked bottles with a capacity of 75 cl. The beer will then undergo a spontaneous second fermentation, which after a few months will produce carbon dioxide (CO2), which this authentic beer owes its saturation and characteristic foam.

Thanks to the second fermentation process in the bottle, this kriek will be preserved for years. Like wine, it undergoes a beneficial change in taste. Keep the bottles lying on your side.

Beer with pure cherry flavor, fresh and pleasantly tart, with a masterful sweet and sour balance. The sweet and sour attack of stone tannins turns into a sour-sweet finish that lasts for some time. The perfect balance between its sourness and the sweetness of cherries makes it a refreshing aperitif.
