For quite some time, the team at Amager has been debating this question: Which man is the most rock’n’roll in the entire craft beer world – is it Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds or Todd Haug of Surly Brewing? In the end, it wasn’t that hard to decide, as only Todd starred for Laura Dern in David Lynch’s film (yes, Nicolas Cage was also in the same movie, but since when does he count?) And Todd plays guitar in both speed metal and stoner bands. Add to that that that Todd and his wife Linda are some of the nicest people to spend time with. So Todd, here’s for you: “Todd – The Axe Man” – a powerful IPA with rich aromatic American hops based on Golden Promise malt, characteristic of Surly. I raise my glass for Todd, a world-class brewer – and guitar master! Bonus facts about Todd: yes, he actually had a perm in his younger years (as his wife attests), and he really loves cats a lot.

PRODUCENT - Amager
Amager Bryghus is a Danish microbrewery located on the island of Amager. It was founded in 2007 by Morten Valentin Lundsbak and Jacob Storm in an old warehouse formerly owned by the Church of Scientology. His first beer to make the Ratebeer Top 50 list was an Imperial Stout called Hr. Frederiksen. This particular beer was created to celebrate a friend of the owners, Peter Frederiksen, who helped them set up the brewery throughout the year. Thanks to the success of Mr. Frederiksen, they established cooperation with Shelton Brothers and began exporting to the United States. Since 2009, they have been on the list of the 100 best Ratebeer breweries.
